
Events & Outreach Manager:
The Chincoteague Center- Chincoteague VA
Part-time with opportunity to for full-time in the fall
$15/hour
Chincoteague Center is seeking a creative professional to partner with the Executive Director in
continuing to establish the Center as the Eastern Shore of Virginia’s largest premier event location.
This position requires exceptional customer service, resourcefulness, and an ability to forge and
nurture community relationships to be successful. You will become an ambassador of the Center;
essential in assisting the community, coordinating rentals, conferences, festivals, concerts, Center
sponsored events, and most importantly ensuring all our clients have a stress-free experience renting
the facility.
When you are not working directly with clients you will be brainstorming and promoting new and
innovative events, continuing the Center’s community and outreach initiatives, and driving new sales
opportunities to Chincoteague Center.

Additional Job responsibilities include:

Management of Chincoteague Center’s calendar. You will be a gate keeper and must have an ability to prioritize requests and independently make judgment calls about time vs. internal resources.

Draft and distribute communications and correspondence on behalf of Chincoteague Center

for board meetings, staff meetings, PR communications, marketing collateral, client correspondence.

Maintain office operations including inventory, general office administration duties, equipment and supplies procurement, managing office requests, track and log contracts for completeness of lease agreements.

Weekend and evening hour availability is required to ensure a Center representative is onsite during events.

Maintain and grow Chincoteague Center’s website and social media platforms.
Qualifications:
-
Some experience with publicity, marketing, and social media or college equivalent preferred.

Strong knowledge of communications and social media trends.

Exceptional grammar usage and writing skills.

The ability to create content and consult with decision making.

Self-starter who can generate ideas and shows leadership skills.

Photoshop, InDesign or other design software to create flyers, posters, and web site graphics preferred.
